_ Docket No._50-445/80-17 50-446/80-17 APPENDIX A NOTICE OF VIOLATION Based on the results'of the NRC inspection conducted on July 14-18, 1980, it appears that.certain of your activities were not conducted in full compliance with the conditionssof your NRC Construction Penmit No. CPPR.-127 as indicated below:
Failure to Follow Drawing for Weld Prep Details 10 CFR Part 50, Appendix B, Criterion V requires that activities affecting quality shall be accomplished in accordance with prescribed instructions, procedures or drawings.
Westinghouse Drawing 271C950, Revision 2 specifies that the Reactor Coolant Loop Piping weld prep counterbore transition taper shall have a maximum i
angle of 10.
Contrary to the above:
On July 16, 1980 the IE i.'kector determined by measurement that Reactor Coolant Loop Piping weld preps for Unit 2 did not conform to West inghouse Drawing 271C950. The counterbore transition taper was actually 30 on spool piece 5Q1 of field weld FW 8 and 33 on spool piece 15Q1 of field weld FW 24; both are ideatified on Isometric Drawing BRP-RC-2-520-001.
This is an infraction.
