- Supplemental Information 3b/28 - The spent fuel pit pump does not have a direct LOCA-mitigating function. However, in the event of an accident, degradation of spent fuel pit pump performance could result in a temperature problem ith the spent fuel pool that, because of personnel restrictions created by the accident, could not be corrected.
For the interim, the "in-site" equipment is acceptable since no spent fuel has been stored. However, to correct this situation, TVA will, by the first refueling outage, provide analyses which verify that the equipment is qualified, or repair and/or replace, as required.

Valve Roc:s SCNEE38004 Miscellaneous Class-lE The equip =ent covered by this NCR has, Equip ent in Main Steas en a case-by-case basis, been evaluated Valve Ecc=s (valves, to deterline if their operation was tranc=itters, switches, essential to plant safety. As a result, and junctica box wiring pressure siitches associated with sc e of the valves in the main steas valve roo:s were identified accordingly. These switches have been relocated away fecm the adverse envircnnent. Also, the =otor-operated valves in these cc part ents were criginally found to have inadequate docu=entatica to justify operation in the accident te:perature envircnnent.
The vender has new analyzed the subject equip ent for the higher te=peratures and has confir:ed, by letter, that the valves under the postulated accident conditions will perform their intended functicn. As for the equip =ent rot replaced, T7A has evaluated each cc penent and has deter =ined that the failure of these itens to perfor= their intended function dees not affect any associated ce related plant safety function.

=itters SCNEE38007 Miscellaneous Centai.=ent The solenoid valves have, en a case-Ventilaticn and EGIS by-case basis, been evaluated te Solenoid Valvcs determine if their operation was essential to plant safety. Fro 2 this list, eight solenoids were identified accordingly. These valves were replaced price to initial criticality with qualified equip =ent.
TVA has evaluated the re aining solenoid valves that were not replaced and has dete: ::ined that the failure of these ite=s to perfors their intended functicn does not affect any asscelated ce related plant safety function. Hcwever, TVA will replace
