Pursuant to 10 CFR 70.17, Specific Exemptions, and in accordance with 10 CFR 70.34, Amendment of Licenses, Louisiana Energy Services, LLC, dba URENCO USA (UUSA),
herewith requests an amendment to Materials License SNM-2010.
This License Amendment Request (LAR) proposes an addition to conditions of Materials License SNM-2010 to allow exemption from 10 CFR 70.24, Criticality Accident Requirements.
UUSA proposes that an exemption from 10 CFR 70.24 requirements be authorized for circumstances in which the Criticality Accident Alarm System (CAAS) is not functional and is either returned to service within a specified period of time or compensatory measures have been employed. provides a description and analysis of the proposed change, basis for the change, and safety significance of the proposed change. The information in Enclosure 1 is intended to replace the original request submitted in the Reference document.
