Bulletin 79-03A: LONGITUDINAL WELD DEFECTS IN ASME SA-312, TYPE 304 STAINLESS STEEL Dear Mr. O'Reilly in response to the subject Bulletin, we have determined that no ASME SA-312 or A-312 Type 300 Series fusion welded pipes are in use in the safety related systems at CR-3 subject to design stresses greater than 85% of the Code allowable stresses.
However, we have identified forty (40) ASME SA-312 Type 300 Series fusion welded pipes in the Decay Heat Removal system subject to design stresses 10% to 61% of the Code allowable stresses.
These pipes were I
fabricated by M. W. Kellogg. Because the design stresses are less than 85% of the code allowable stresses for these identified pipes, no additional information will be provided.
