> MEC T. Ippolito, Chief, Electrical, Instrumentation and Control Systems Branch, DSS THRU:
T. M. Novak, Chief, Reactor Systems Branch, DS[F ECCS REVIEWS IN THE EI&C AREAS FOR CRYSTAL RIVER 3 AND DAVIS-BESSE 1 It is our understanding that the enclosed memo was coordinated with EI&CSB to ensure a complete and uniform ECCS single failure review in the areas indicated.
Following up on this theme, it is requested that confirmation of the acceptability of the electrical areas identified be given for CR-3 and DB-1.
The lead ECCS reviewer on both cases (G. Mazetis) has held previous discussions with the EISCSB reviewers (CR F. Ashe; DB-1-*A. Szukiewicz).
It is anticipated that most of the electrical areas of concern have been addressed by the applicants and reviewed by EI&CSB; however, recent discussions on some submerged isolation valves on CR-3 indicate that there may be a problem.
Frank Ashe has agreed to look at CR-3 further.
In the interest of maintaining the current SER schedule, your response by May 1,1976 would be appreciated.
