G. Fiorelli, Chief, Reactor Operations and Nuclear Support Branch DELETION OF NATURAL CIRCULATION TEST As discussed in the attached memo from R. D. Martin, the licensee does not intend to perform the Natural Circulation Tests even though the Davis-Besse design utilizes an elevated steam generator design which theoretically would be more efficient in the natural circulation mode.
Discussion between NRR, Babcock and Wilcox and Toledo Edison Company as recent as November 5, 1976, have not been able to resolve this point.
It is requested that this issue be formally turned over to NRR for resolution.
