'ELECON BETWEEN KEN CANADY, DUKE, AND A. SCHWENCER AND I. PLETIER ON OCONEE MATTERS gh Specs for Unit 1:

1.

Duke has made calculations of the liquid and gaseous rad-waste hold up capacities based on assumed generation rates and volumes in th'e hold up systems. These assumptions and results will be made part of the FSAR. The results for the various Units in operation are:

Gaseous Gaseous (days)

(days)

Unit 1 only 63 30 Unit 1 and 2 39 15 Units 1, 2 and 3 49 20 2.

Duke has concluded that new DRL assumptions used to calculate releases from the spent fuel pool will not change the Duke analysis already in the FSAR. Therefore, the tech spee pro-hibiting fuel handling in the pool vill be deleted for Oconee 1.

3.

Duke has concluded that its reporting procedures in the tech specs meet Safety Guide 16 except in areas of Guide 16 where reporting is already required by law (special nuclear materials etc.).

I will check. with Vollmer as to whether or not those areas should be included in tech specs for completeness.

Changes in AEC Organization

  • 1.

Canady wanted to know if Duke should change its mailing and other interfaces with DRL as result of the recent reorganization i

at REG. We told him to keep moving as before until he hears from us on this matter.
