LULLETIN 00 02, FATIGUE CRACKS IN STEAM GENERATOR TUBES, MCGUIRE NUCLEAR STATION UN11 1 (TAC 67313)
The liRC staff has curpleted review of your actions to resolve NRC Bulletin E8 02, "Repidly Propagating fatigue Cracks in Steam Generator Tubes' for McGuire Unit 1.
These actions are identified in your letters dated March 24, April 25, June 10,1988, and January 16, 1989.
Our Safety Evaluation (SE) is enclosed. We find that your actions tal.en for McGuire Unit 1 fully resolve the issues identified in the bulletin and are a cceptable. This finding is subject to adoption of additional edministrative controls at described in the ccnclusions of the enclosed SE.
Based on the satisfactory resolution of the bulletin issues, you may, at your option, terminate your consnitment to the enhanced leak rate inonitoring program described in the June IV,19BB, submittal for McGuire Unit 1.
llevertheless, we encourage you to review the leak rate monitoring 3rocedures to ensure the continued effectiveness of these procedures for tie timely detection, incnitor.
