REQUEST FOR AMENDMENT FACILITY OPERATING LICENSE NPF-57 HOPE CREEK GENERATING STATION DOCKEP NO. 50-354 Public Service Electric and Gas Company (PSE&G) hereby transmits an Uipplication to amend Appendix A of Facility Operating License No. NPF-57 in accordance with 10CFR50.90.

This amendment request will revise Technical Specification 5.6.3, Spent Fuel Storage capacity, thereby permitting the installation of sufficient rack modules to bring spent fuel storage capacity up to the original design value.

A description of the requested amendment, supporting information and analyses for the change, and the basis for a no significant hazards consideration determination are provided in Attachment 1.

The Technical Specification page affected by the_ proposed change is marked-up in Attachment 2.

Based on the our determination that the proposed change involves no significant hazards consideration, pursuant to 10CFRSO.92, but, that there are issues involved in this request that may require some detailed technical branch review, PSE&G believes that the proposed amendment would be properly classified, in accordance with the current NRC Amendment Review Procedures, as a Category 3 change.

Additionally, pursuant to the requirements of 10CFR50.91(b) (1),
