. identification and classification informatior. contained in the MMIS: database is; on a day-to-day basis, maintained current =by the MMIS Database Management Group within our-Engineering and Plant Betterment Department.
That group has

includo. independent. peer verification of all changes to the
-database. LThe-group has also implemented.a work control
- process Technical Standard-which includes review of a 10%
sauple of all data entries.
Under the provisions.of 10CFR50, Appendix B, the Quality

activities, (which include MMIS Database Management) for such items as procedure compliance, design control, and document control..All findings are summarized in audit reports which are provided to upper level management...

n-Specific equipment classification issues, such as Environmental Qualification and Fire Protection are also individually covered by QA audits, wherein, per 10CFR50 Appendix B, SXVI, any discrepancies found in the MMIS equipment identification and classification database would be identified to the appropriate levels of upper management for action.
Based upon the-above, PSE&G believes that management controls over the identification and classification of equipment-are adequ.ately addressed.
