ilATURAL CIRCULATIO!! TEST - DAVIS BESSE, U: LIT 1 We have evaluated the need for recuiring a natural circulation test as specified in Regulatory Guide 1.68 for the elevated steam generator design for Davis Besse. Unit 1 (33-1)
Since 00-1 is the lead facility for the 177 FA raised loop design, it is the staff's position that the natural circulation test be conducted for DB-1 during the power escalation phase of testing.
We request that you amend the FSAR to include the natural circulation test as specified in P.egulatory Guide 1.C3 or provide a su9norting bases whereby we can compare the efficiency of the raised loop design for 05-1 to the test results for the Oconee 177 FA lowered 1000 natural circulation test.
We request that you state your intent regarding cogliance with this 90si-
