V. RESPiMSIBILITIES AND ACTIONS l

A. GENERAL

1. Environmental Qualification (EQ) applies to safety-related  ;

electrical equipment (referred to as Class lE in IEEE 323- ,

1974); non safety related electrical equipment whose failure I under postulated environmental conditions could prevent safety-  !

related equipment from performing its function; and certain .i post accident monitoring equipment (specified as Category 1 or 2 in NRC Regulatory Guide 1.97).  !

2. The successful implementation of FPC's Environmental Qualification Program requires an interdisciplinary and i interorganizational approach. As such, affected FPC ,

departments shall establish or reviso implementing procedures, as necessary, which address their roles and responsibilities as defined in this procedure. 1

3. The Configuration Management Information System (CMIS) Safety Listing and the Environmental Qualification Master List shall ,

be used to determine equipment environmental qualification l
