This letter is in response to your Septenber 8,1989 request for clarification of the August 18, 1989 staff evaluation related to the above subject. The staff agrees that only that portion of the nitrogen pneumatic system inside the Reactor Euilding, including containment pneumatic isolation velves, is Class I seismic. The staff was aware of this when the review was performed. The. staff agrees that the safety evaluation was not totally clear on this point, and we apologize for ar.y inconvenience that this may have caused you.
