This refers to the routine safety inspection conducted by Peggy R. Rescheske
of this office on September 18 through October 13, 1989, of activities at the
Fermi 2 Nuclear Power Station, authorized by NRC 0)erating License No. NPF-43,
and to the discussion of our findings with Mr. R. 3. Stafford and others of
your staff at the conclusion of the inspection.
The inspection focused on your refueling activities (core offload) during the
first refuel outage at the Fermi 2 plant.
The enclosed copy of our inspection
.eport identifies areas examined during the inspection. Within these areas,
the inspection consisted of a selective examination of procedures and
representative records, observations, and interviews with personnel.
No violations of NRC requirements were identified during the course of this
inspectvan.
In accordar.ce with 10 CFR 2.790 of the Commission's regulations, a copy of
this letter and the enclosed inspection report will be placed in the NRC
Public Document Room.
We will gladly discuss any questions you have concerning this inspection.
