No. NPF-62, and to the discussion of our findings with Mr. .J. .S. Perry and others

of your staff at the conclusion of the inspection.

The enclosed copy of our inspection report identifies areas' examined during: the

'

inspection. Within these areas, the inspection consisted of a selective

examination of procedures and representative records, observations, and

interviews with personnel.

During this inspection, certain of your activities appeared to'be in violatior

.i

of NRC requirements as described in the enclosed Notice and as discussed-in

Paragraph 3b(2). A written response is required. 'This issue was reviewed for

potential escalated enforcement action, however, based on limited safety

i

significance our review determined the violation to be more properly

,

categorized at a Severity Level IV. Although we did not chose.to utilize the

'

provisions of 10 CFR 2 Appendix C for exercise of discretion, we acknowledge

'

and encourage the self identification and reporting of this issue by

Illinois Power.
