Gentlenen:
This refers to the special safety inspection conducted by Mr. M. J. Kopp and
other NRC representatives of this office on September 19 through October 2,
1969, of activities at Fermi 2 Nuclear Power Station authorized by NRC
Operating License No. NPF-43 and to the discussion of our findings with
Mr. Quang Dong at the conclusion of the inspection.
The enclosed copy of our inspection report identifies areas examined during
the inspection. Within these areas, tie inspection consisted of a selective
examination of procedures and representative records, observations, and
followup to previously identified environmental qualification (EQ) provide a
interviews with personnel. The purpose of this inspection was to
issues.
During this inspection, certain of your activities appeared to be in violation
of NRC requirements, as described in the enclosed Notice. The inspection
showed that actions had been taken to correct the identified violation and to
prevent recurrence. Our understanding of your corrective actions is described
in Paragraph 3. of the enclosed inspection report.
Consequently, no reply to
the violation is required and we have no further questions regarding this matter
at this time.
In accordance with 10 CFR 2.790 of the Commission's regulations, a copy of
this letter and the enclosed inspection report will be placed in the NRC
Public Document Room.
We will gladly discuss any questions you have concerning this inspection.
