TECHNICAL SPECIFICATION REPORTING REQUIREMENTS FOR THE CORE SURVEILLANCE REPORT - UPDATED INFORMATION By letter dated September 14,1989, Virginia Electric and Power Company submitted information regarding a Reactor Coolant System THot emperature reduction for North ')L t

Anna Units 1 and 2. As stated in that letter, we plan to implement the THot temperature reduction program for North Anna Unit 1 by November 17,1989, and Unit 2 by November 3,1989.

The purpose of this letter is to provide confirmation of our final determination regarding the impact of the THet temperature reduction program implementation. Our evaluation l

of the program and the associated calculational changes has determined that no core -

alterations or physical changes to plant systems are necessary.- In addition, no i

Technical Specifications changes or changes to the conclusions of any safety analysis described in the UFSAR are required for program implementation. However,as stated in our previous letter, the N(z) function for normal operation will change as a result of this program. Therefore, as previously committed, the Core Surveillance Reports for North Anna Units 1 and 2 are being revised to reflect these new operating limits and will be provided by the proposed alternate submittal date, October 20,1989.
