FEMA officials on January.15,19 and March 10, 1988..At various times over a
'relatively. long p_eriod,: various members of-the NRC' and FEMA staffs 'have dis-

- cussed the' adequacy 'of protective measures for the Seabrook beach population as fpart of' the overall emergency planning review process for Seabrook.. Such a.
discussions have included in' numerous-meetings of the FEMA-chaired Regional
- Assista'nce Comittee in which NRC Region I staff participated, and at several
[regularmeetingsoftheNRC/ FEMA.SteeringCommittee,whichwasestablishedto
[
-resolve offsite emergency preparedness issues. The NRC employees who haveL participated in such discussions have included staff and management from the NRC Region I office and from ilRC headquarters. These communications were conducted pursuant to the Memorandum of Understanding between our two agencies and-in accordance with our statutory responsibilities. The discussions were not: recorded and individual notes have not been identified. The details of the January 19, 1988 meeting between NRC staff and FEliA officials are discussed in response to-Question 3.
