Dear Senator Helms:
_Thank you for your letter of August 18, 1989, concerning a July 3, 1989, letter

1 which you received from one of your constituents, Mr. David Gill. Mr. Gill has been in contact with our Regional Office in Atlanta, Georgia since July 1987.
The Regional staff attempted to resolve Mr. Gill's concerns through inspection
' of-the Brunswick f acility's records for the time-period in question.-
The information which Mr. Gill has requested does not exist since he did not receive a whole body count.when he lef t the facility. Three individuals who worked in the crew with Mr. Gill did receive whole body counts with the highest showing 1.9 percent of a Maximum Permissible Body 8urden (1.3 percent of' Cobalt-60 and 0.6 percent of Manganese-54). Additionally, Mr. Gill's whole body exposure was recorded as 107 millirems by thermoluminescent dosimetry.
This information was provided to Mr. Gill on August 8,1988, in a copy of NRC Inspection Report Nos. 50-325/88-23 and 50-324/88-23.
The other subjects raised by Mr. Gill which involved contaminated liquids end solid wastr, were already known by NRC and had been inspecteo and closed in the early 1980s.
l Mr. Gill ~was recontacted on August 28 and 29,1989, to determine if he had any I
additicnal information regarding this matter. Mr. Gill did not provide any new information that had not already been addressed.
