Dear Mr. Denton:
We very much appreciate meeting with you on April 28, 1980 and were pleased with your commitment to have the Summer SER issued in August 1980.
Further, we understand you are committed to the milestones as set forth in your Blue Book.
We, in turn, are making every effort to be construction ready by December 1980. We are in the process of obtaining an independent review of the human engineering aspects of the Control Room pursuing / reevaluating other items you mentioned - ie. staffing, B0P reliability, engineering support organization, low power testing, pressure vessel nozzle underclad 4
cracking, emergency planning, and turbine disc cracking. We are preparing for the Class 9 accident review.
As we discussed *.-ith you, we believe an early NRR/I&E site review is extremely important to our overall effort.
We can sense the increase in reviewer activity already.
We expect to file our revised emergency plan by June 1,1980 and will start our licensing liaison people " walking your halls" the first week of June.
If there is any way whatsoever to run p ect licensing activities in parallel, we stand ready to participate full.
