FACILITY: Florida Power and Light Ccmpany St. Lucia. Unit No. 1 Docket No. 50-335 Fort Pierce, Florida

INADVERTENT SAFETY INJECTION RESULTS IN 25,000 GALLONS OF PRIMARY WATER IN CONTADiMENT This pec11minary notification is for iaformation only.

At 1:09 a.m. on October 2 while conducting routine surveillance testing cf the station batteries the 125 volt DC Bus 1B was inadverently de-anergized. The plant was shutdown for maintenance and the thru pressurizer code safety valves were removed for setpoint calibration.

Tre loss of one DC bus resulted in initiation cf safety injection, containtrent Isolation, and recirculation actuaticn signals. The safety injecticn ttnks (S!T) injected into the reactor coolant system (RCS), and since

'tC3 was vented to the containment atirosphere, approximately 25,000 gallons of RCS water overflowed to containment.
