Gentlemen JMcGough CMiles-The Commission has filed ths' enclosed " Notice of Proposed Issuance ~ of Amendments to Pacility Operating Licenses" with the Office of the Federal Register for publication. This notice nlates to your request of September 12, 1975, for approval to amend Licenses No. DPR-38, DPR-47, and DPR-55 for the Oconee Nuclear Station, Units 1, 2, and 3, to revise the provisions in the Technical Specifications relating to the capacity for storage of new or spent fbel in Oconee Unit No. 3 spent fuel pool.
The proposed modifications would increase the storage capacity.from 216 to 474 fuel assemblies by replacing the existing storage racks with those of a design capable of accomodating an increased nuser of assemblies.

UNITED STATES NUCLEAR REGULATORY C05NISSION DOCKET NOS. 50-269, 50-270 AND 50-287 DUKE POWER COMPANY NOTICE OF PROPOSED ISSUANCE OF AMENDMENTS TO FACILITY OPERATING LICENSES The Nuclear R0gulatory Commission (the Commission) is considering the issuance of amendments to Facility Operating Licenses No. DPR-38, DPR-47 and DPR-55 issued to Duke Power Company (the licensee) for operation of the Oconee Nuclear Station, Units 1, 2 and 3 (the facilitf), located 9
in Oconee County, South Carolina.
The amendmentswould revise the provisions in th6 Technical Specifications relating to the capacity for storage of new or spent fue'l in Oconee Unit No. 3 spent fuel pool. The proposed modifications would increase the storage capacity from 216 to 474 fuel assemblies by replacing the existing storage racks with those of a design capable of accomodating an increased number of assemblies, in accordance with the licensee's application for amendment dated September 12, 1975.
Prior to issuance of the proposed license amendments, the Commission will have made the findings required by the Atomic Energy Act of 1954, as amended (the Act), and the Commission's rules and regulations.

. licenses. Petitions for leave to intervene must be filed under oath or affirmation in accordance with the provisions of Section 2.714 of 10 CFR Part 2 of the Commission's regulations. A petition for leave to intervene must set forth the interest of the petitioner in the proceeding, how that interest may be affected by the results of the proceeding, and the petitioner's contentions with respect to the proposed licensing action.
Such petitions must be filed in accordance with the provisions of this FEDERAL REGISTER Notice and Section 2'.714, and must be filed with the Secretary of the Commission, U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission, Washington, D.C.
