The attached report of inspections of the subject facility on October 12-15
and November 3, 1971, is forwarded for information. Three items of non-
compliance with Appendix B of 10 CFR 50 were- identified.
On November 3, 1971, Messrs. Murphy and Moseley met with Messrs. Lee and
Thies, both Vice Presidents of Duke. During the meeting, we reviewed the
recent history of inspection findings to point up a need for more attention
to the quality assurance program. We obtained assurances that both =en
vould look into their phases of the project and take action where needed.
