' APPENDIX A NOTICE OF VIOLATION Texas Instruments Incorporated Docket No. 70-33 Based on the results of an NRC inspection conducted on April 21-25, 1980, it appears that one of your activities was not conducted in full compliance with NRC regulations and conditions of your NRC License No. SNM-23 as indicated below. This item is an infraction.
Condition No. 21 of License No. SNM-23, imposed by Amendment No. 7 to the license, dated May 9, 1978, requires that, " Supervision shall assure that approved operating procedures, including the controls associated with radiological and criticality safety, are followed and are available on the floor for each operation."
Contrary to the above, on April 21, 1980, supervision did not assure that a criticality safety control was followed. Two drums, each of which could contain < 24 grams of U-235, were located at the waste drum press location; and the fiaximum Safe Quantity (MSQ) Posting for the work location allowed only one drum containing <_ 24 grams of U-235 to be at the work location.
