In accordance with 10 CFR 2.201, Texas Instruments (TI) is responding to your letter of May 22, 1980, " Inspection 70-33/80-06".
The case of noncompliance as itemized in your appendix A is described briefly below, with our (1) corrective steps which have been taken and the results achieved; (2) corrective steps which will be taken to avoid further items of noncompli-ance and (3) the date when full compliance will be achieved.
t INFRACTION: Failure to assure that a criticality safety control was followed at the waste drum press location.
(1) Corrective action and results achieved:
(a) The route card for metal drums has been revised to show that these drums are approved only for contaminated metal waste.
(b) All subsequent route cards for metal drums have shown that the drums are approved only for con-taminated metal waste.

(a) First-line Manufacturing and Quality Assurance supervision or their authorized representatives will accompany Nuclear Safety personnel during the Nuclear Safety Monthly Inspections and co-sign the inspection checklist each time.
(3) The date when full compliance will be achieved.
(a) Full compliance with the MSQ posting at the waste drum location was achieved on April 25, 1980.
