This refers to the inspection conducted by Mr. A. R. Herdt of this office

on January 8-11, 1974, of activities authorized by AEC Construction Permit

No. CPPR-51 for the Crystal River Unit 3 facility, and to the discussion

of our findings held by Mr. Herdt with Mr. Bennett and others of your

staff at the conclusion of the inspection.

Areas examined during the inspection and our findings are discussed in

the enclosed inspection report. Within these areas, the inspection

consisted of selective examination of procedures and representative

records, interviews with personnel, and observations by the inspector.

Within the ccope of this inspection, no violations were disclosed.

We have also examined actions you have taken with regard to previously

identified enforcement matters and unresolved items.

The status of these

items is identified in Sections II and IV of the sumnry of the enclosed.

report.

One new unresolved item resulted from this inspection and is identified

in Section III of the sue nry of the enclosed report. This item vill be

examined on subsequent inspections.

In accordance with Section 2 790 of the AEC's " Rules of Practice," Part 2,

Title 10, Code of Federal Regulations, a copy of this letter and the

enclosed inspection reporc vill be placed in the AEC's Public Document

Room.
