s-MAY l 51972 Note to File TELECON WITH KEN CANADY, DUKE;AND BOB MILLER, B&W CONCERNING MAIN STEAM LINE SAFETY VALVES ANALYSIS, MAY 15, 1972 According to Miller the steam line safety relief valves on Oconee have a different arrangement than those on the Turkey Point 3 system and are the same as on the McGuire Plant. The valves for Oconee and McGuire were an&lyzed for 4300 psi static pressure and 21.000 counds of thrust and the resultant moment stresses in the design of the valve reinforcement structure. Therefore, they do not feel that Oconee has a problam similar to TP.
Canady plans to out this information in the next amendment to the Duke application due May 25, 1972, without further action on our part.
