This refers to the inspection conducted by Messrs. T. N. Epps, G. R. Jenkins ,
D. G. Hince. ley, and A. L. Cunningham on October 29 - November 1, and

November 4-8, 1974,'of activities authorized by AEC Operating License No.
DPR-38 for the Oconee 1 facility, and to the discussion of our findings
held by Messrs. Epps, Jenkins, Hinckley and Cunningham with Mr. J. E. Smith
and members of his staff at the conclusion of the inspection.

During the inspection, it was found the
certain activities under your
license appear to be in violation of AE. requirements.
The-violations
and references to pertinent requirements are listed in Section I of ~
the su=tary of the enclosed report.
The violations under Items I.A.l.
a,b,c and d were found ~and corrected by Duke personnel and no further
response is ' requested.
This notice is sent to you pursuant to the provisions of Section 2.201
. of the AEC's " Rules of Practice," Part 2, Title 10, Code of Federal

Regulations.
Section 2.201 requires you to submit to this office,
within 20 days of your. receipt of this notice, a written statement
or explanation in reply including:
(-) corrective steps which have
been taken by you, and the results a,hieved; (2) corrective steps
which will tur taken to avoid further violations; and (3) the date
when full compliance will be achieved.
In accordance with Section 2.790 of the AEC's " Rules of Practice," Part 2,
Title 10, Code of Federal Regulations, a copy of this letter and the
enclosed inspection report will be placed in the AEC's Public Document
