Background

on March 13, 1974, Duke Power requested a waiver to the Technical

. Specification 3.5.2.5-e,." Control Rod Position", for a period of 24 hours2.777778e-4 days <br />0.00667 hours <br />3.968254e-5 weeks <br />9.132e-6 months <br /> starting at W dnight March 13, 1974. The purpose of the waiver is-to permit calibration of x-core detectors which due to

.an oversight in the wording of the existing Technical Specifications could not be done without exceeding power imbalance limits.

Evaluation & Conclusion This waiver was reviewed and granted before on November 22, 1973, and the finding and conclusions are contained in the record. The health and safety of the public is not endangered by this temporary waiver and, therefore, the waiver has been' granted.
