SEP 211976 Duke Powr Conpany Certain steam generators have ccepleted the first cycle of operation with tube inspection results that have indicated little discern-ible degradation. These early-in-life inspection results may not be incicative of the total 40 year desien life of stc.u cenerator tubes in terms of tube integrity.
Therefore, we hay: corcluded that sur-veillance of stea:a (;enerator tube integrity seculd be covered by technical specificatiens for all facilities including tr.ose 6.tsere early inseection cycles nave not irdicated any ciscernicle or increasino degradation.
The enclosed mdel technical specificaticas gives credit ter favora31e early inspection results by extencing subsequent inscection intervals and keeping at a minimum tne nunber of tubes to be probed.
We recuest that within 45 cays of re,eipt of tnis letter, ycu revise or resucnit your request for a license ameneent using the encloseo nocel technical soecifications for guidance.
The acdel tecnnical srecifications should to a:Dropriataly acaeted to your specific forlat anc to the nunDer of steaa cederators in your plant.
