SUBJECT:

NRC PARTICIPATION IN THE JUNE HEARING IN ANNAPOLIS, MARYLAND This memorandum will confirm the arrangements made with Jim Easter of the Maryland Commission on Intergovernmental Cooperation for you to partici-pate in the Comission's June 3 bearing. On May 12 I sent you the Maryland request along with the two specific questions on spent fuel storage at the Calvert Cliffs facility which we have been asked to address. Jim Easter has asked that ycu provide the Comission with 30 copies of your statement prior to your oral remarks.

The hearing will be held in the Legislative Services Building at 90 Sta^e Circle in Annapolis in the Joint Hearing Room on the first floor at 1:00 p.m.

The Legislative Services Building is located across the street from the State Capitol in Annapolis.

The hearing will lead off with Dr. Steve Long of the Maryland Power Plant Siting Program. NRC will be the next witness followed by Critz George, DOE-Waste Isolation; either Arthur Lundvall or C. H. Poindexter, BG&E: and finally representatives from the Maryland Department of Emergency Services.
