Dear Mr. Young:

As you know, the Maryland Comission on Intergovernmental Cooperation is currently examining the intergovernmental aspects of nuclear waste management and disposal.

The Comission will hear testimony on this subject at 1:30 p.m. on June 3 and Jun 980, in the Joint Hearing Room of the Legislative Services Building in Lf nnapolis. We would be pleased if you would testify before the Comission on certain elements of the problem of nuclear waste management.

The Comission is particularly interested in the intergovernmental aspects of low level /high level waste management and disposal.

Enclosed are certain specific questions that the Comission would appreciate your addressing in your testimony.

The Comission is planning to invite federal, State and local government officials and representatives of intergovernmental organizations who have responsibility over nuclear waste managemant and disposal in the areas of licensing and regula-tion, transportation, emergency preparedness, program planning, and intergovern-mental policy coordination.

The Commission would appreciate your providing a spokesperson with thorough knowledge of Calvert Cliffs Power Plant.
