Enclosed are sixty (60) copies of Revision 2 to the report entitled Effect of High Energy Piping System Breaks Outside Reactor Building,.
for the Crystal River Unit 3 Nuclear Generating Plant. This report was generated for Florida Power Corporation by Gilbert Associates, Incorporated (GAI) and was in response to your letter of December 15, 1972.
A meeting was held on November 28 and 29,1973 with members of your staff during which detailed discussions were held concerning our analyses of high energy fluid line ruptures outside containment, particularly in the case of a main steam line rupture within the intermediate building.
The main area of discussion centered around differences in analytical models used by GAI and the AEC which resulted in discrepancies in the pressure buildup values. It was mutually concluded that 'a reanalysis would be performed and that any necessary changes tc the report Effects of High Energy Piping System Breaks Outside the Reactor Building, would be made via revision.
Revision 2, dated February 11, 1974, contains the changes to this report that resulted from the reanalysis.
