6 NOTE FOR FILES STATUS OF OCONEE 2.AND 3 REVIEW The following problem areas have to be resolved in the near future in order to meet a staff report to the ACRS by mid-August in tire to make a September ACRS meeting.
1.
Net Positive Suction Head A DRL position is required by March 15, 1972 either modifying Safety Guide No. 1 or granting exception to the assumptions stated in the case of Units 2 and 3.
2.
Isolation Valve Interlocks A DRL position is required by March 15, 1972. Oconee Unit 1 was granted an exception to the DRL position on the flooding tanks isolation valves. Is this exception going to apply to Units 2 and 37 Units 2 and 3 do not meet the proposed guide for RHR valve interlocks.
Numerical guides for fission product releases 3.
Hydrogen Control during purging are required prior to March 15, 1972 so that a position on backfitting Units 2 and 3 can be stated in the question list to the applicant.

Material Surveillance - A DRL position is required by March 15, 1972 regarding Oconee Unit 2 since Unit 2 capsules have been fabricated and will not meet proposed new rules. New rules must be available by June 1972 for Oconee Nucicar Generating Unit 3.

Ultimate Heat Sink - Imposition of new flood criteria (proposed Safety Guide) presents serious problems with regard to the adequacy of tho Oconee system. A DRL position on this matter is required by ISrch 15, 1972.

its review questions will cause a one month delay in the Sentenber ACRS schedule as will the August 21, 1972 date for.the DRS Draft Report to ACRS.
