Dear Mr. Case:
We have completed our review of the applicant's responses to our comments pertaining to Babcock and Wilcox Topical Reports, BAW-10008, Part 1, " Reactor Internals Stress and Deficction Due to Loss-of-Coolant Accident and Maximum flypothetical Earthquake" and BNV-10008, Part 2, " Fuel Assembly Stress and Deficction Analysis for Loss-of-Coolant Accident and Seismic Excitation" and concur with the appli-cant's approach to the analysis. We would, therefore, like to delete Comment number S fraa our preliminary report, " Review of the Seismic Design of the Oconee Nuclear Station, Units 1, 2, and 3,"
dated July 21, 1970.
We have also reviewed the informal material dated August 3,1970 pertaining to the analysis of the Keowce Powerhouse and Spillway seismic analysis. We have assumed that the data presented are for critical members.
If this is so, we feel the designs are acceptable and would like to revise Comment number 6 of our p climinary report by deleting reference to the following items:
