Gentlemen:

This refers to the inspection conducted by Mr. F. Jape of this

office on September 13-14, 1973, October 3,1973, and October 23-26,

1973, of activities authorized by AEC 0perating License No. DPR-47

for the Oconee Unit 2 facility, and to the discussion of our findings

held by Mr. F. Jape with D. L. Freeze on October 25, 1973, and with

Mr. J. W. Hampton on October 26, 1973.

Areas examined during the inspection and our findings are discussed

in the enclosed inspection report. Within these areas, the inspection

consisted of selective examination of procedures and representative

records, interviews with personnel, and observations by the inspector.

Within the scope of this inspection, no violations were disclosed.

We have examined actions you have taken with regard to previously

identified violations. These are identified in Section II of the

summary of the enclosed report.

We have also examined actions you have taken with regard to previously

identified enforcement matters and unresolved items. The status of

these items is identified in Sections II and IV of the summary of

the enclosed report.

In accordance with Section 2.790 of the AEC's " Rules of Practice," Part 7,

Title 10, Code of Federal Regulations, a copy of this letter and the

enclosed inspection report will be placed in the AEC's Public Document

Room.

If this report contains any information that you believe to be
