OCONEE NUCLEAR STATION UNIT 1 CONFORMANCE WITH ASME SECTION XI, SUBSECTION IWP PUMP TESTING The inservice testing program for pumps at Oconee Nuclear Station Unit 1 will be conducted in accordance with the methods described in Subsection IWP of Section XI of the ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code where practicable and consistent with existing station design. However, in that these pumps and associated systems were designed prior to implementation of IWP, sufficient instrumentation and test provisions are not provided to fully implement the requirements of the inservice test program as outlined in the Code.
The attached is a listing of safety-related pumps, considered to be Class 1, 2 or 3, which are provided an emergency power source and which will be tested in accordance with IWP to the extent practicable, consistent with existing design.
The instrumentation and test provisions available for testing of these pumps are indicated on the table.
