50-318 Baltimore Gas & Electric Cogany Attn: Mr. Arthur E. Lundvall, Jr.
Vice President - Supply P. O. Box 1475 Baltimore, Maryland 21203 Gentlemen:
We have received a copy of an application dated July 3,1979 (supplemented by your letter dated January 15,1980), which your Company filed with the Office of Nuclear Reactor Regulation (ONRR) for review and approval.
The application is for spent fuel pool modification for Calvert Cliffs Nuclear Power Plant Units 1 and 2 (Licenses DPR-53 and DPR-69). Fees for Classes III and I totalling $4,400 were transmitted in a separate July 3, 1979 letter signed by Mr. Olson.
Based on guidance from the ONRR staff as a result of a preliminary review of your application, it has been detennined that this review for your spent fuel pool expansion involves consideration of a complex issue. As such, a Class IV fee of $12,300 is required for Unit 1 rather than a Class III fee. The Class I duplicate fee which you paid for Unit 2 is still appropriate.
It is requested that your Cogany promptly remit an additional $8,300 to this office. If the final review of your application by the ONRR staff reveals l
that this fee is incorrect, you will be refunded any overpayment or be asked to pay any additional amount due.
Sincerely, g g,,, y
