Dear owe:

The agenda for our forthcoming meeting on emergency preparedness for the Brunswick site is enclosed as discussed in our telephone conversation of March 4, 1980. The NRC will issue a press release in advance of the meeting describing the agenda.

The NRC/ FEMA review team will discuss the status of emergency preparedness, including details of problems they have identified, in the sessions with you and the State and local. representatives. The public is welcome to observe these meetings.

An evening session,'at which'public comments will be received, will also be held. The team leader wilt summarize the main points of the day's discussion as an introduction to the public comment session. The team leader will also note that the site emergency plans meet current NRC regulations but, as a result of the TMI accident, significant improvements are being sought.

For your information I am also enclosing a copy of the NRC/ FEMA memorandum of understanding which describes our current working relationship.

Sincerely,

~
