f SP 206.03B DIESEL GENERATOR B SYNCHRONIZATION SURVEILLANCE TEST 1.0 PURPOSE

.1 To monthly start the "B" Diesel Generator from the control room.

.2 To monthly assure the "B" Diesel Generator can be synchronized to the 43 bus.

.3 To monitor operation of the Diesel Fuel Oil Pumps P-888C and P-888D monthly.

,.4 To log the quantity of diesel fuel oil in Diesel Fuel Oil Storage Tank T-887B monthly.

l6 3.0 LIMITS AND. PRECAUTIONS

.1 All 1.imits and precautions listed in OP A.31.

.2 Test only one diesel-generator at a time.

.3 The diesel generator should NOT be synchronized with the " NORMAL-DROOP" switch in "NORMAI.".

.4 Loads belou 700 CJ should be minimized.

.5 If-test equipment, other than installed instrumentation, is used the serial number and recalibration due date must be documented 6

in the appropriate space on Enclosure 1, 6.1 Data Sheet.

4.0 SURVEILLANCE TEST PROCEDURE

.1 Monitor Operation of P-888C and 888D.

.1 Diesel Fuel Oil System is aligned per A.32, Section 5.0, normal Operation. Place the " Auto-Off-Hand" control switch of P-888D in "0FF".

.2 Place the " Auto-Off-Hand" control of P-888C in " HAND".

.3 Observe from LG-89308 that the Diesel Generator Fuel Oil Day Tank is full.

.4 After 15 minutes, record the discharge pressure for P-888C from PI-88803 and the running current at 2B114.

.5 Place the " Auto-Off-Hand" control switch of P-888D in "0FF".

.6 Place the " Auto-Off-Hand" control switch of P-888D in " HAND".

.7 After 15 minutes record the discharge pressure of P-888D from PI-88804 and and the running current at 2B115.

.8 Record the pressure differential across strainers Y-88811 and Y-88812 from PDI-88814.

.9 Place the " Auto-Off-Hand" control switch of P-888C and P-888D in "AUT0".

.10 Diesel Generator Fuel Oil System is now in the standby mode.

.2 Starting and synchronizing the "B" Diesel-Generator.

.1 Record the beginning elapsed running time of the "B" Diesel-Generator.

.la Check the crankcase oil level (the oil icyc1 should be at or above the FULL cark).

.lb Check engine coolant level (level should'be in the surge tank gage glass within the appropriate marks).

.2 Verify the "B" Diesel-Generator is in standby in accordance with 4.1 of OP A.31.

.3 Start the "B" Diesel-Generator in accordance with 4 2 f 0P 60

Verify the Diesel starts, voltage is 4160 -o volts andthat-frequencyis38+3 HZ. ' Record data in Enclosure 6.1.2.2.

.4 Synchronize and load the "B" Diesel-Generator to at least 1000 KW in accordance with 4.2 of OP A.31.

.5 Observe operation of diesel auxilaries (soak back and bypass oil pumps, air compressors cut-in and cut-out and~ starting-motors).

Record any abnormalities in 6.1.1.5,

.Sa Verify that both supply and exhaust fans started by checking breakers 52-3B06 and 52-3B17 closed.

.6 Allow the engine paraneters to stabilize for an hour and record generator and diesel data in Enclosure 6.1.2.3.

.7 Observe the level in the Diesel Generator Fuel Oil Day Tank T-893B. Record the level.

.8 Remove the diesel generator load from the bus and shut down as specified'in OP A.31, Section 6.1.

.9 Record ending elased time.

.3 Monitor Quanity of Diesel Fuel Oil Storage Tank T-887B.

.1 Record the level and quantity of diesel fuel oil in Tank 8873 fron LI-88702.

5.0 ACCEPTANCE CRITERIA

.1 Diesel Generator "B" shall start from the control roon and accel-erate to rated frequency and voltage.

.2 Diesel Generator "B" shall successfully be synchronized to the 48 bus.

.3 Diesel auxiliaries and fuel oil transfer pumps operate.

.4 Diesel Fuel 011 shall be greater than 35,000 gallons.
