SACRAMENTO MINICIPAL UTILITY DISTRICT (RANCHO SECO)
CRACKING IN WELDING ON IATERAL SUPPORT FOR A STEAM GENERATOR
The subject inquiry report is forwarded for information.
The susceptibility of cracking in T-1 steel is recognized by the licensee.
Reportedly, U. S. Steel representatives spent considerable time with the
fabricator to assure that proper welding procedures were followed. We plan
to review the observed deficiencies during our inspection scheduled for
June 27, 1972.

You will note that the licensee plans to submit a written report of the
observed construction deficiencies to RO pursuant to 10 CFR 50.55.
