Florida Power Corporation Crystal River Nuclear Generating Plant Docket No. 50-302
Dear Sir:
l Mr. Delaney of your staff has advised Florida Power Corporation (FPC) that additional information is required by the staff in order to complete their review of our Application for a Special Nuclear Material License, dated August 11, 1975.
i Specifically, Mr. Delaney indicated that the following additional information is required:.
1)
Identify instrumentation available for use with PuBe neutron source.
2)
Identify other Byproduct Material and Special Nuclear Material Licenses previously granted FPC.
3)
Indication by FPC that the Health Physics program referenced in our August 11, 1975 Application is presently in effect.

In response to Mr. Delaney's request, we offer the following:
i 1)
Instrumentation - An Eberline Model PNC-4 fast and thermal neutron detector with a range of 0-500 K CPM, and two Eberline Model PNR-4 rem counters with a range of 0-500 mr/hr are available for neutron detection and measurement.
- 2) Other Licenses - Florida Power Corporation presently is the 28]g holder of Byproduct Material License No. 09-07683-02 and Special Nuclear Materials License SNM-1275 which were granted on June 20, 1972 and Jure 20, 1973, respectively.

~3) Health Physics Program - The ' Health Physics Program, procedures and facilities identified in Section 11.5 of the CR#3 FSAR (reference #2 of our August 11, 1975 Application) are presently in effect and are being utilized by the Crystal River #3 plant personnel.
It is hoped that this additional information will enable your staff to complete their review of our Application for a Special Nuclear Material License in a timely manner.
