Dear Mr. Moseley:
In response to the infraction noted in Inspection and Enforcament Report No. 50-302/76-22, non-compliance 76-22-A1(II), we offer the following.
f Infraction - Failure to Evaluate Examination Data
" Contrary to 10 CFR 50.55a and Article 1S-300 of the ASME Code,Section II, Winter 1972, the licensee failed to evaluate an indication in the baseline data that exceed acceptable standards of ASNE Section III when performing the preservice inspection."
The corrective steps which we have taken include formal request to have those items noted in your Inspection Report reviewed by the Contractor Level 3 Examiner. This was done, and the disposition of these items was that they were not code rejectable.
The corrective steps we have tairen to avoid further non-compliances include a request for review of the Baseline Report to assure that any other indica-tion of this nature had not been overlooked. This review by the Contractor did identify a small number of non-code rejectable indications which have now been so designated.
