With reference to the licensa applications for Oconee Units 1, 2 and 3, itGuire f;uclear Station Units 1 and 2, and Catawba Pucisar Station Units 1 and 2 the Attomey General has furnished the Comission additional antitrust advice pursuant to section 105c of the Atenic Enercy Act of 1954. as a9 ended. A copy of the Attorney General's letter of April 25, 1974 is enclosed for your inforcation. The Departrent of Justice advises that given Duke Power Cogany's undertaking trf accept certain comitrents as license conditions, the Department now believes antitrust hearinqs will not be necessary with regard to the Oconee, ikGuire and Catawba license applications.
It therefore withdraus its erevious letters of advice concerning those three applications and recorrends that anpropriate steps be taken to tereinate the scheduled antitrust proceedings thereon.
We are also transoitting to the Office of the Federal Register a copy of the Attorney General's advica for publication.
