Dear Mr. Moseley:

My letter of July 21, 1975 transmitted Duke. Power Cocpany's response to Inspection and Enforcement Reports 50-269/75-7, 50-270/75-8 and 50-287/75-8.

The response to Iten I.A.3 was inadvertently omitted in that letter.

Please find attached a corrected Page 2 to that response which includes the response to Iten I.A.3.

.b I.A.3 s-Contrary to 10CFR 20.203, a radiation area was not conspicuously posted per 20.203(b), two high radiation areas were not posted per 20.203(c)(1),

a high radiation area was not fully controlled per 20.203(c)(2), and two high radiation areas were secured with padlock and chain such that an individual could be prevented from leaving the area, contrary to 20.203 (c) (3).

RESPONSE

All discrepancies noted in this item have been corrected.

In order to prevent recurrence, this item has been reviewed with the appropriate health physics and chemistry supervisors and their personnel.

III.75-07,

-8, -08/l High pressure injection pump recirculation flow orifice and letdown block orifice erosion problem.

RESPONSE

High pressure injection pump recirculation orifices and letdown block orifices are being procured in an expedited manner.

In the interim, all high pressure injection recirculation and the Units 2 and 3 letdown block orifices will be radiographed every 30 days.

The Unit 1 letdown block orifice has been replaced by the latest design and only normal surveillance will be performed.
