The information presented is as initially received without verification or evaluation and is basically all that is known by IE staff on this date.

Subject:

INJURY TO EMPLOYEE A contract employee fell about 10 feet while working in the auxiliary building.

The employee received possible back injuries.

He fell in a contaminated area and his clothing was contaminated to about 300 disin-tergrations per minute.

His clothing was removed prior to his being transferred to a Greenville, South Carolina hospital for treatment.

There was no contamination on the employee.

There is local media interest.

The licensee does not plan a press release.

The NRC does not plan a press release.

The State of South Carolina has been informed.

Region II ( Atlanta) received notification of this occurrence from the RII Resident Inspector at 2:30 p.m. on April 17.
