This letter confirms the call made to your office on January 29, 1980, in which we extended an invitation for members of your staff to attend a meeting at the Region I office to discuss and clarify the requirements in IE Bulletin 79-01B, Environmental Qualifications of Class IE Equipment, issued on January 14, 1980.

The meeting will be held on February 7,1980, in the Region I conference room starting at 9:00 a.m., and is expected to continue for the duration of the day.

Because of the limited size of our facility, we request that you limit the number of your attendees to two persons.

The requirements of Bulletin 79-01B and the procedures we will implement to determine the adequacy of environmental qualification of safety system components will be discussed in accordance with the proposed agenda enclosed with this letter.

Your staff members should be prepared to discuss with my staff any areas of Bulletin 79-01B that require interpretation or clarification.

No reply to this letter is required; however, should you have any questions concerning this meeting, please contact Mr. Alan E. Finkel of this office, (215) 337-5296.
