Docket No.

50-334

.Mr. C. N. Dunn, Vice President Operations Division Duquense Light Company 435 Sixth Avenue Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania 15219

Dear Mr. Dunn:

We are in receipt of your letters of November 5 and December 27, 1979 on the implementation schedule of fire protection modification and although we understand your request for revised schedules for the items in your letter, we feel you should have all these modifications complete before reactor startup

, following the current outage. Of the modifications mentioned, only the fire doors installation schedul? is questionable.

If with further examination you find these installations may not be complete before startup, you are requested to submit to this office 30 days before startup, the specific details of the modification.

These details should include dates of purchase orders, requested delivery dates, manufacture's name(s) and 1

address (es), dates the engineering of the modifications began, specific datails of the modifications v.hich delayed installation, and any other information ir.cludina your efforts to obtain material from other suppliers which would support a conclusion that the installation schedule was unavoidably delayed.

If you have any questions in this satter, please let us know.

Si ncerely, f,,
