This refers to the inspection conducted by Ms. Jean M. Dawson of this office, on December 20, 1978, of the activities authorized by NRC Byproduct Material License Nos. 35-00502-03, 35-00502-04G and 35-00502-02, and to the discussion of our findings held by Ms. Dawson with Messrs. D. H. Hathorn, C. C. Saunders and G. A. Snyder on December 20, 1978.

The inspection was an examination of the activities conducted under the licenses as they relate to radiation safety and to compliance with the Commission's rules and regulations, and the conditions of the licenses.

The inspection consisted of selective examinations of procedures and representative records, interviews of personnel, independent measurements and observations by the inspector.

No items of noncompliance with NRC requriements were found during the inspection concerning License Nos. 35-00502-02 and 35-00502-04G.

Ms. Dawson also reviewed the action you had taken with respect to seven items of noncompliance observed during our previous inspection, which was conducted January 12 and 13,1976.

She verified that the corrective action with respect to these items was implemented as stated in your reply of February 5,1976 to our letter dated January 21, 1976.

Based on the results of this inspection, it appears that one of your activities was not conducted in full compliance with NRC requirements, as set forth in the Notice of Violation, enclosed herewith.

This item of noncompliance has been categorized into the level described in the correspondence to you dated December 31, 1974.

This notice is sent to you pursuant to the provisions of Section 2.201 or the NRC " Rules of Practice," Part 2, Title 10, Code of Federal Regulations.

Section 2.201 requires you to submit to this office, within twenty (20) days of your receipt of this notice, a written statement or explanation WOWSOI(c,b
