Grand Gulf Nuclear Station File 0270/0494/15521/04,90/M-001.0 Uni ts 1 and 2 RII: PKV 50-416,417/79-34/30 IE Inspection Report of December 11-14, 19/9 AECM-80/41 Mississippi Power and Light Company is requesting an extension to respond to the infraction stated in Inspection Report 50-416/79 34. The infraction relates to density problems with radiographs supplied to MP&L by our NSSS supplier from one of their sub-tier sups,11ers. The subject radiographs pertain to Main Steam and Recirculati a Syttem pipe spools received on site during 1976 In addition to coordinating the review of the subject radiographs by the parties involved, we are initiating a review of other selected radiographs received from the NSSS supplier to determine the extent of the problem. Due to the time required to complete these preliminary activities, our response to this infraction is scheduled for April 5,1980.
The above was discussed with your Mr. F. Cantrell on February 5, 1980.
We find no proprietary data contained in the inspection report.
